Growing up in a resource-limited environment, he was never short on ambition. Faith, resilience, and a quiet defiance against limitation became the pillars of his upbringing. He believed deeply in one thing: possibility. Makafui’s passion for technology guided him to pursue formal training in IT and cybersecurity at the University of Ghana and the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT. But his story didn’t stop there—it was only the beginning. His journey took a bold turn when he moved to Canada, determined to deepen his technical expertise and broaden his global impact. At triOS College, he earned a certificate in Network and System Administration, graduating with distinction. He also received certification in Drone Operations and Aviation Safety, exploring the dynamic intersection of technology, regulation, and airspace innovation. By 2025, Makafui had taken another ambitious leap—enrolling in the Business Management program at the University of Toronto. This was a strategic move to sharpen his leadership and entrepreneurial acumen and elevate his impact in the business world. Makafui’s career journey has been as diverse as it has been determined. In Ghana, he served in pivotal roles such as IT Administrator, Business Development Manager, and Information Technology Specialist—where he built, tested, documented, and optimized IT infrastructure and business growth strategies.
Upon arriving in Canada, Makafui continued climbing, taking on roles like Field Service Technician at the Upper Grand District School Board, supporting technology in a fast-paced educational environment. His hands-on expertise spanned across Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, technical support, asset inventory, and network troubleshooting. In 2024, Makafui founded ADENTITI, a cybersecurity firm based in Toronto with a mission to safeguard small and mid-sized businesses from evolving digital threats. His leadership at ADENTITI is bold, visionary, and rooted in empowerment.
The company offers gamified cybersecurity training, modular protection plans, and is developing VaultDrive—a zero-trust, AI-secured storage platform for safe collaboration. Through ADENTITI, Makafui is not just building technology; he's building resilience in businesses that often get left behind in the cybersecurity conversation.
He also authored Bridge: Closing the Cybersecurity Gap for Small Businesses, a practical guide that demystifies cybersecurity for entrepreneurs and equips them with tools to protect their digital front doors. Makafui’s path as an immigrant entrepreneur wasn’t smooth—it came with its fair share of funding challenges, cultural navigation, and business adaptation in a new country.
